since I am not on mobile any longer I can flesh !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! out a bit more for those of you interested. This weekend I was sent car hunting by my girlfriends father. The conversation started in his garage at 7:30 in the morning when I was looking at a 283 he was trying to get unstuck. I look up on his wall and see the Peugeot logo on a belt. PS belt for a 505 hiding behind a fox hunting horn. I took that of course...
!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!
So he in his infinite knowledge of where shit is hiding said he knew a guy who had an ancient Peugeot station wagon hiding next to his garage a few towns away. Heading into town anyways I put my boots on and went car hunting with my strangely enthusiastic girlfriend. He said it could be dragged out of there for nothing. What I actually found was more surprising, a 1957-59 Goliath 1100 wagon, in all of it's fwd, boxer engine glory. It is said to have "ran when parked" although it looks like it was parked 20 years ago. Interior doesn't look that bad in the vinyl, though the headliner is hanging off itself in pieces and all over the place. I didn't pop the hood, but whatever is in there is there. Ill take it. He is going to drag it up to his house when the snow bank clears, and I will put it on the list for when the Invicta is out for the season. If any of you had doubts about my penchant for weird cars, now you know it to be the truth. Enjoy!

If nothing else, and the current drivetrain's no good, you can always replace it with the one from a Wartburg or a Panhard - easier than a 2CV would be. *takes another hit from bong*

Nah, put a Jeep Chassis under it so it's the weirdest looking off roader ever to touch dirt in Maine.
Also, what's up with that snow buried pickup you had a shot of?

Dude, I would SOOO take a free Goliath wagon if I had a place to put it. You're not weird, just lucky to be properly equipped ;)

Excellent...
The one I looked at looked very similar to this one, condition & color:

looks like the wagon is more complete, but very similar. You ever wrenched on one of those "wasserboxers" before? Kind of curious as to head gasket reliability
This doesnt seem like an easy google research project

Never worked on one. The orange one was the first and only one I've ever actually seen, and it was really rough, definitely worse off than the wagon. It'll be a big undertaking to sort one out, but there's a fair bit of info out there, if not parts. Still, it'll probably make Peugeot look like Toyota.

I really thought this was a 403 until I stopped the car!

They do look awfully similar from the front.
